Blackgators

Ancient, crocodilian nightmares of the Hedge

Description:

Blackgators are huge, alligator-like creatures that infest the Hedge around Miami. They seem more like thick terrors made of salty, cold silt and twisted roots that flesh-and-blood animals; it’s almost impossible to see a blackgator before it heaves itself up out of the dark wet and clamps its thorny teeth around its fresh prey. Once they kill, they drag their prey down to the bottom to feed – perhaps into the watery depths of the Hedge, though some say they drag their victims down to Hell itself.

Bio:

With the proper tanning process, the tough hide of a Blackgator can be woven into Hedgespun, to make a light, flexible coat or vest of leather armor.
